Mildred Edith Sweet
died on December 29, 2012, at her home in McMinnville, Oregon. A
memorial will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 4:00
p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in McMinnville,
Oregon. See our map (click

She was preceded in
death by her parents Peat & Iren Seber and brother, Glenn Seber
her daughter Rita Davis and her second husband of 28 years
Fenton Sweet. She is survived by her loving son, Robert and wife
Jerlun Davis of Yamhill, Oregon. She touched the lives of too
many people to count. She will be missed by one and all.
While born in Darby, Montana in 1925 and
mostly growing up in the Bitterroot Valley with her father Pete
Seber while her father was working in the logging camps as a
woodsman she later moved to her mothers house in Darby and
attended school working the summers in the logging camps and for
families in Darby until her graduation from high school.
In 1943 moving to
Denver, Colorado to be with her mother Iren (Tufts) and Brother
Glen Seber while working for Bell Telephone company as a
telephone operator for years she met then married Robert J.
Davis and moved to the Bay Area in California specifically to
work in the Todd’s Shipyards during the war effort. Much later
in life she was divorced from Robert and moved to Milwaukie,
Oregon to marry Fenton Sweet where she worked at Tektronix’s in
Beaverton, Oregon as a phone operator for 25 years more and
retired in 1985 to take a once in a lifetime trip of many months
to Alaska with 3 generations’ of her family along with her.
Mildred spent the
last four years of her life mostly on her own doing things her
way as she so much enjoyed, and during the last year was
enjoying life at an assisted living facility in McMinnville and
forever studding the Bible as a devoted Jehovah’s Witness of
over 60 years.
Special thanks to
all the staff at Vineyard Heights and Providence Hospice
services who helped my mothers’ choice of going to sleep for the
last time so painless and effortless. She will surly be
resurrected at judgment time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made to the Jehovah's Witness Society.
